Idaho Medical Exams is a medicolegal company dedicated to Independent Medical Examinations and Expert Opinions. Physician owner Timothy Doerr, M.D. is a local orthopedic surgeon specializing in extremity and spinal injuries, who has performed medicolegal evaluations in the community for over 25 years. Dr. Doerr prides himself on very detailed and accurate evaluations with a credibility that holds exceptional weight, not only with jurors and the Idaho Industrial Commission, but also with opposing counsel. Dr. Doerr spends the extra time and effort to ensure that his conclusions are logical and strongly supported by the facts of the case, with opinions that are explained in a way that can be easily understood by the layperson juror and the workers’ compensation commissioners. The cost of spending this extra time is more than offset by the ability of a strong expert opinion to resolve difficult cases, usually before going to trial or in front of the Idaho Industrial Commission.
Dr. Doerr performs record reviews as well as full in-person evaluations. If requested, Dr. Doerr can perform a preliminary review of the records and give his confidential opinion on the strength of the case as well as what his conclusions will likely be prior to generating a discoverable report. Dr. Doerr performs evaluations for liability defense attorneys, workers’ compensation defense attorneys, workers’ compensation sureties, liability plaintiff's attorneys and workers' compensation claimant's attorneys. The credibility of Dr. Doerr’s opinions are well known among local attorneys, mediators and the Idaho Industrial Commission, often leading to early case settlement, a significant cost savings to all parties involved.
Idaho Medical Exams understands that time is crucial, and evaluations can generally be scheduled within 2 weeks of the request, with a report turnaround usually 1 week after the injured party is seen. Dr. Doerr also recognizes that communication with the referring party is paramount, and he is available to discuss cases at any time.
Dr. Doerr has practiced orthopedics in Boise for 25 years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society. He has very extensive knowledge of all orthopedic extremity injuries and all spinal injuries and performs evaluations of all injured body parts.
